Happy Halloween

Once again the Gaarder Family went trick or treating. Nate was a blue man from the blue man group, Tristin and I were pirates, Cole was a dementor from Harry Potter, Carson was Batman, and Tori was a ladybug. We went to some friends house in Metaire. Trick or treating was fun until I lost Tristin for a short time in someones garage. We went back to the house and there was a dj playing and many little fun activities. We left about 9:00pm. We still have baskets of candy left that the kids keep trying to climb up on the counters to get some. Once a day I take a hand full down to work. Work is going well. We are keeping really busy. We are now trying to get ready for the holidays.

Home School

Once again we are having many adventures in the south. Home school is going well. Carson would like to do school everyday and all day if I would let him. He wants to learn how to read. Cole is getting his work done everyday but doesn't share the excitement that Carson has. Cole is big on cooking right now so I figure that is a good following instruction lesson. We have finished the first quarter of school. My hardest problem is to remember holidays we don't have school. Cole is currently working on presidents and the states for social studies. Carson is learning about animals for science. I have found that Cole loves to draw. Carson likes to do whatever the big brother is doing so we are drawing like crazy, including Tori. In November we are going to learn about Thanksgiving. Should be eventful!!!

Cole's 9th Birthday!

Hello,
Once again we celebrated another July birthday! Cole Lane turned 9 on July 20th! We spent all afternoon and evening in the pool. We had cake and ice cream by the pool. Everybody at the pool got out to help sing to Cole. He had a wonderful time.

Tristin had a wonderful time at the pool also! He now dives in and puts his head in and swims. It was a scary sight for me the first hour. After that I calmed down. That boy has no fear!! Tori likes to put on Cole's snorkel and fins. She looked like a duck. So her song for the day was " I am Tori,I am a duck, quack ,quack, quack. If I can get the pic from my phone I will post it!

Well hope everyone is doing well there, as long as the kids get to go swimming they are happy campers here! Happy Birthday to all of the July birthdays. I know that there are many July birthdays in the Beermann Family.

Nate has had many comments on how great of a sailboat that kind is. Apparently it is rare and the best of the best. Nate just giggles because he has a lot to do on the inside and doesn't know how to sail it yet. He hopes someday to experience acctually sailing it like everyone keeps telling him about !

Take care everyone and try to stay of the extreme heat!

Twins golden birthday July 3rd!!

Once again we started our birthdays with the twins. They turned 3 on the 3rd. We went to Build a Bear a couple of days early. Tori picked out a pink and white bear and Tristin finally after everyone talking him into it picked out an elephant. On their birthday we had cake and ice cream. It also worked out well because there were 5 dolphins jumping out of the canal. So it was like going to the zoo for free!! The twins are finally potty trained!!! What a blessing to not have to buy diapers anymore! I have to say, we have been buy diapers for the last 9 years. What a blessing not to buy anymore!!!!!!

On July 4th we had a BBQ at the campground and lit fireworks. Everyone enjoyed it. We could also city the city's fireworks after our were done. Everyone had a great time.

A couple of days ago, Nicholas Cage's yacht was here for a couple of days. The captain of the boat is one of the owners of the campground. Sounds like they will be back again in the near future.

I don't know too much more everyone is doing well. Cole is excited for his birthday. Carson thinks his is really close. I'm still looking for a school for the kids. Otherwise I will home school. My narcolepsy is back strong as ever so I don't drive much and I take many naps with the kids. (ok, mom naps kids watch tv.) It is still hot and humid down here. Tori's hair and my hair are very curley in this weather. Looks cute on her!! Nate hasn't had much time to work on his sailboat but he is hoping to find time in the near future to get it done! Take care everyone!

Hello again,
Nate has a new toy. A 27 ft sailboat. So now with all of his free time that he didn't really have before he will be spending of fixing up a sailboat. Mainly just the interior needs to be fixed up on it but his partner (other half owner) is a carpenter. His name is Brian. Brian has a son Coles age and a wife. So kids have fun while wives watch and big boys work. Everybody is happy. Nate will put some pic on the blog later.

Potty Training

Hello
Well for the last two days we have been potty training the twins. First day no accidents. Today Tristin had one accident. Tori, even with a diaper on, has had no accidents. Carson was sick this morning. After I cleaned everywhere twice, I finally had a calm evening. I felt like I just got one room clean when a kid would come by and mess it up just as fast as I walked into another room. I called Nate home for help. When he arrived I just got things under control. What a day! It rained this afternoon for a couple of hours and we had flood warnings. But for once it didn't seem to flood on the campground.

Nate is in charge of keeping the pool clean. He has decided that it is a challenge with all of the wind and dust.

Nothing else too new here. I am just hoping by the end of the week I will have at least one kid potty trained and the other close behind!!! For the record, Carson is feeling better this afternoon. We had crawfish for supper with mac and cheese at the twins request. Which I have to say is adorable listening to the twins saying "mac and cheese" . I made Tori say it 50 times just because it was so cute!!
I hope to post pictures soon! Take care everyone!

Life in New Orleans

Hello,
We have been very busy working. Nate takes care of the outside work and I take care of most of the office work. We work all day and Nate fishes at night. We have gone to Gulf Port MS a couple of times to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. We have seen a lot of different fish. One of the exciting ones was a dead jellyfish. We have had quite the experience with fire ants. I think I am allergic to them. It took 2 weeks to get moved into our home. We have met many people from all around the world. Cole and Carson have made a couple of friends. Cole has learned how to drive the golf cart. We take the ferry at least once a week. On the way home we take the bridge and the kids say how it looks like we are in New York. We are finally done with home school. We are still trying to find schools for the boys and maybe preschool for the twins. We walk around the campground usually twice a week. So far we are adjusting to the heat just fine. But when it rains, it pours, it floods!! Grandma Crystal, Mom, and kids have walked the French Quarter a couple of times. All four kids love it! Today the big boys and I baked cookies and made blue frosting. I think Tristin wore more than he ate! We miss everybody back home but we hope you are all doing well. So far we like where we are but every place has it ups and downs. One thing that will shock everyone is Nate bought shorts and tennis shoes and hasn't wore jeans or boots in weeks! Take care everyone
Love
Dawn and family
